Hi Musada
We had a very successful meeting yesterday, May 4th 2008 at Jack Nunyi’s Residence. The turnout was very impressive and the contributions for the monthly dues was $400.00 and new registration $30.00. This shows the meeting is getting very strong.
Among other things discussed were
a)    the replacement of the Vice President at the next meeting.
b)    The getting of an employment number to facilitate the opening of an account before next meeting.
c)    The starting of a savings program from which members can borrow and pay an interest.
d)    We are also going to examine at the next meeting the constitution and decide on When to start implementing the articles relating to solidarity funds.
e)     A program of hosting was drawn up. Two members will be responsible for hosting the meeting each time. A roster has been drawn up to extend right to December 2008. For June the meeting will take place at Mme Emmerencia Bodog’s Residence and the two hosts are Mme Emmerencia Bodog and Mme Cecilia Mokam.
Every male member is requested to come along to meetings with some drinks and the ladies with some food. Have something so we can share and lighten the burden of the Host.
The roster for the subsequent months will be published later.
The commitment being shown by members is very encouraging and I hope we keep up with this spirit.
If there are any thing I might have left out please do not hesitate to contact me. My numbers are below this email
The address of our next meeting is at 2204 Victor Court, Silver Spring, MD 20906 on June 1st, 2008.

The meeting that took place in Clement Fomin’s residence was one of the most successful meeetings we have had. There were nearly twenty members and two new members showed up. The meeting discussed the matter of the Executive and decided to contact the Vice President who is in Florida before a decision as to replacing him can be made. The Secretary who has not shown up for meetings since she was elected was replaced with the Vice Secretary, Ms Emmerencia Bodog, who is now empowered to carry out her functions.

Another good decision arrived at was the creation of a monthly njangi and fifteen members signed up for the njangi. The amount is $50.00 each and at the next meeting that will take place at Ms Emmerencia Bodog’s residence the rules will be set and the njangi will take off. If you have not yet registered and would like to join please come on that day with your money. Come Early also in order not to miss out.

A new Committee has been created (replacing the old one) to work on projects. The members are

Martin Ngengwe

Peter Morfaw

Leo Eyombo

Mudime Mukete

Emmerencia Bodog

Dr. Peter Morfaw has been given the responsibility to coordinate the committee.

Monthly contributions collected this day amounted to $130.00. This shows the interest members have in promoting the meeting.

Meetings begin at 6.00p.m and is supposed to end at 8.00p.m.

Refreshment was more than adequate,  supplied by the Fomins and a few members who supported him. I will like to thank the Fomins and all the other members who have been hosting meetings for their efforts and generosity.

Next meeting is at Ms Emmerencia Bodog at 2204 Victor Court, Silver Spring, MD 20906 on April the 6th 2008.

Please spread the word around.

MEETING HELD ON 01/06/2008

Posted by musada on January 7, 2008

The meeting of 01/06/08 held at Mr Nangah’s residence was productive. We discussed the future of the organisation and decided that we could not hold a reorganisation at this time because many members did not show up. Some called in to say they did not have rides and others could not make it.

However the following decisions were arrived at.

1. The next meeting will be held at Miss Rose Anyi’s Residence.

2. The members list was updated with telephone numbers and will be emailed to all members who have submitted their email address so that they can help in personally propagating news of the meeting.

3. Members contributed their monthly dues of $10.00 for the month of January 2008. Total collected on the spot was $100.00

4. At the next meeting registered members will be coming with $20.00 – $10.00 for January and $10.00 for February. New members will be expected to come with their registration and their monthly dues.

5. At the next meeting we will be reorganising the Executive and the Standing Committees. Volunteers for posts will be considered seriously.

6. We will decide at the next meeting when condolence visits and other activities of the organisation should start.

We look forward to seeing you at the February meeting and do hope you will do well to publicize the meeting.

Once more may I wish you a happy new year.
